Quinn Farm Christmas Craft Fair

Well, folks, after weeks of folding, cutting, and gluing, I'm ready for the Quinn Farm Christmas Craft Fair in Île Perrot tomorrow. I'll be selling my wares along with a number of other local artisans. Drop by and check us out!

I've been busy! This past Wednesday I co-hosted a workshop on book art and paper craft for the School Section of the Association des bibliothécaires du Quebec Library Association. We had a great time repurposing some old books! Expect a post on this soon. There will also be a 2.0 of this workshop at Westmount Public Library in January. I'll post the details once I know more about it.

I have all kinds of ideas percolating in my head for 2015's entries, such as the new art I plan to take up (quilling), the plan I'm sketching out for this year's backyard garden, and of course, new recipes.

For now, Merry Christmas! Enjoy the time spent with family and friends, and I'll be seeing you in the New Year!

Pumpkin Cardamom Ginger Ale

Pumpkin Cardamom Ginger Ale

Every year I spend November telling myself that it is too early to:
  • Play Christmas carols
  • Put up Christmas decorations
  • Make holiday goodies
Yeah, not so good at this resolution. The Christmas carols are usually in full rotation by November 5th, and the holiday goodies come soon after!

That's why I love making this Pumpkin Cardamom Ginger Ale. The traditional holiday flavours of pumpkin pie and gingerbread cookies are brought together in a delicious fermented drink. I love tasting the strong ginger kick, the milder hints of pumpkin tea, and the fizzing of the tiny bubbles produced by the fermentation process. This is a home brewed soda that you can put on your holiday roster year after year.
